A wee look at some of the awesome new things to land on my desk this month…

Go-To Skincare ‘Properly Clean’ Cleanser Go-To Skincare 'Properly Clean' Cleanser

Love, love, LOVE this cleanser from Go-To Skincare!  From the fruity and delicious scent of the product (apparently ginger, mandarin and lime but smells way more yummy than this sounds!), to the way the self-foaming cleanser is super nice to apply to your skin and easily removes all of the makeup/skincare/sunblock from the day, to the way that it really does leave your skin feeling clean, soft and wonderful.  This product has reminded me why I love Go-To Skincare a lot – all of the products I have tried from the range have been seriously fabulous!

A Year of Mindful Living – Daily Changes for a Calmer LifeA Year of Mindful Living Book

I was really excited to receive this book and honestly love it!  It is the perfect gift to yourself or someone that you care about, to learn to ‘wake up and smell the roses’ really!  What I love about this book is that it contains just a short tip to read each day for the year – it’s something that only takes a minute to read which is perfect for the type of person this book is targeting.  If each tip is really thought about and applied each day, over the course of a year imagine how much you could change positively to live a more mindful life!

La Belle Soap Company

La Belle Soap Company NZIt honestly felt like Christmas when I received these gorgeous handmade soap bars from La Belle Soap Co to try!  These soap bars are made in New Zealand and available to purchase on Etsy.  The unique, bright packaging gives some clues about what is awaiting on the inside (check out the ‘flavours’ here – I’m loving ‘Lychee’ at the mo!) – so pretty.

While the soap bars are free of detergents, parabens and SLS, the colours and fragrances aren’t all natural – but depending on how stringent you are with that kind of thing you could still fall in love with La Belle Soap Co and I reckon these gorgeous wrapped soaps would make the most fantastic gift!

Argo Naturals Coconut Facial CompressArgo Naturals Coconut Compress

These ‘compresses’ come in a pack of two for US$15.90 from Argo Naturals, and are something totally new to me.  Unfortunately this is a product though, that I didn’t really love for a few different reasons.

They do smell delicious – coconut is one of my favourite scents, but that’s about where it ends.  The compresses are a small sack of coconut wrapped in cloth, and you are supposed to soak them and massage your face with them to remove dead skin cells and stimulate blood circulation.  I suppose it is nice in theory and they were somewhat nice to use – while you are massaging your face with them a white coconutty liquid seeps out of the cloth and onto your face, which is fine.  I think the main problem I have with this product is that you are only able to use it 2 – 3 times according to the instructions – it just seems a little wasteful when you look at the product and what it entails.  And believe me, you definitely can’t use it more than that – after two uses and a week of hanging damp/drying in my bathroom (as I wasn’t quite sure what to ‘do’ with it) the product smelled absolutely terrible!  I guess of rotting coconut?  I don’t know, I guess I just don’t see much value or eco-friendliness here.

Argo Naturals Kasuma OilArgo Naturals Kusuma Oil

On a brighter note, I did rather like the Kusuma Oil from the same company.  I’d never actually heard of Kusuma Oil before, but it is extracted from “a special genus of Safflower (Carthamus tinctorius), in particular the Kusuma flower”, and has been used traditionally as a beauty treatment since the beginning of Ayurveda.  Kusuma Oil is one of the richest sources of omega 6 fatty acids, and can be used on both your face and body.  I definitely noticed a marked improvement in my rather shockingly dry legs, quite quickly, when using this oil, and would definitely recommend it if you’re interested in trying something a little bit different.

Chelsea Winter – Homemade HappinessChelsea Winter - Homemade Happiness

Well actually, this has been in circulation in my kitchen for a couple of months now and I have been meaning to write something about this cookbook for a while because I absolutely adore it and have tried out a number of recipes from it already!

Chelsea Winter is known for her absolutely delicious recipes and this book is right up there with the other two on the delicious-ness scale!  I love her down to earth approach to food – in that it is all about ‘real’ food, but without sacrificing on taste!  I also love the new addition of a somewhat healthier section, containing the likes of a homemade muesli recipe and heaps of great healthy kids lunchbox ideas!  I guarantee you won’t be disappointed by this cookbook – it is fast becoming one of my faves!

Brand NEW Linden Leaves Products

I New Linden Leaves Productswas so excited to receive these brand new products from the Linden Leaves NATRUE Certified Natural range, and it reminded me how much I really do love the skincare products from this brand (and prompting me to swiftly add these products to our store!)

The newest products are:

  • – Intensive Repair Eye Cream with Organic White Tea & Melon
  • – Regenerating Night Cream with Organic White Tea & Goji Berry
  • – Skin Refining Cream Cleanser with Organic White Tea & Jojoba

In the past, I only really thought of Linden Leaves as pretty bottles with flowers in to admire at the chemist, but in the last couple of years I’ve had the chance to try some really fantastic skincare products from the range, and ones that do provide very real results!

That’s all from me for this month!  If you get a chance I’d love to hear what you’re loving or loathing at the moment too! :-)
